Dark Chocolate Cranberry Scones

If you need a scrumptious new treat to make your mom for your Mother's Day brunch, look no further! These delightful Cranberry Dark Chocolate Scones are as delicious as they are pretty and would be a great accompaniment to tea or coffee.


2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 stick butter
3/4 cup Marie's Candies Dark Chocolate Chunks*, chopped
3/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (thawed)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup half and half
2 tsp vanilla extract

*Note: Marie's Candies Dark Chocolate Chunks are sold in 8 oz. bags, which will provide enough chocolate for this recipe, plus a bit extra for you to snack on while baking!

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1-2 TBSP heavy cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract


-Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
-In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients.
-Cut the butter into the dry ingredients with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-Fold in the chocolate chunks and cranberries.
-Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients.
-Stir until just combined.
-Add a little more heavy cream if needed to bring all the crumbs together.
-Divide the dough in half and pat into two rounds on the prepared baking sheets.
-Cut each round into 6 wedges and separate slightly.
-Bake for 15-20 minutes or until slightly golden and not shiny on top.
-In a small bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients then drizzle over cooled scones.
