Chocolate Covered Potato Chip Bars
Ingredients:
For dough:
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
For filling:
- 1/2 lb. Marie's Wrapped Caramels, unwrapped
- 3 Tbsp. heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- sea salt (optional)
- 1/2 lb. Marie's Milk or Dark Chocolate Covered Potato Chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degree F
- Spray a 9''x9'' baking pan with non stick cooking spray and line it with parchment paper, set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine butter and both sugars and beat with mixer until well combined.
- Add vanilla and continue to mix until incorporated.
- Lastly, add flour and blend until smooth.
- Press about 1/3 of your dough into the bottom of your prepared pan (place remaining dough in refrigerator) and bake for about 20 minutes or until edges are just starting to turn golden, remove from oven to cool slightly.
- Meanwhile to make your filling, use a sauce pan to melt the caramels, heavy cream and vanilla together until smooth. Set aside.
- Gently break the chocolate covered potato chips into pieces and sprinkle them over the top of the crust. Then drizzle and spread the caramel filling over the potato chip pieces. Sprinkle desired amount of sea salt over top the caramel filling.
- Remove dough from refrigerator and crumble over the top of the caramel filling. Return to oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove and cool slightly before cutting.
