Easter Dirt Cake Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 package (8oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz. each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 bag of Easter Candy from Marie's Candies such as, Foil Wrapped Eggs, Speckled Malt Balls, or Eggstravagant Gummies

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oreos: crush the Oreos in a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: in another bowl, beat together the butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth & creamy.
  3. Prepare the pudding: in a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until well blended and thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken further.
  4. Combine Pudding and Whipped Topping: fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture until well combined.
  5. Layer the cake: in a 9x13 dish, layer half of the crushed Oreos to form the base. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo layer. Carefully spread the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer. Top with the remaining crushed Oreos, covering the pudding layer completely.
  6. Refrigerate, decorate & serve: refrigerate for at least two hours, or overnight, before serving to allow the layers to set. Shortly before serving, decorate the top with Easter candy of your choice to create a festive Easter scene.
