Pear Dump Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sliced pears (peeled and cored, about six medium pears)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for extra moisture)
  • pinch of salt
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pears: preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, toss sliced pears with sugar, cinnamon and pinch of salt. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to create a light syrup.
  2. Layer the fruit: grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray. Spread the pear mixture evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Add the cake mix: evenly sprinkle the cake mix over the pears, covering them completely without stirring.
  4. Drizzle with butter: pour melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring maximum coverage. Drizzle milk over any dry areas, if desired.
  5. Bake until golden: bake for 40-45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the pears bubble around the edges.
  6. Cool and serve: allow the cake to cool for at least 15 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving. Enjoy warm or cool with ice cream or whipped topping.
