Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 lb. package of Marie's Candies Dark Chocolate Buttons

Instructions:

  1. Line a 9x13 baking pan with aluminum foil then spray it with cooking spray; set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine butter, brown sugar, baking soda and salt in a large bowl and mix with an electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Add flour and oats then continue mixing until well combined.
  3. Reserve 1 heaping cup of oat mixture and set aside.
  4. Press the remaining oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk and mix until smooth. Pour and carefully spread peanut butter mixture over semi-cooked oat crust.
  6. Crumble half of reserved oat mixture over peanut butter mixture. Top with Dark Chocolate Buttons, then add remaining oat mixture.
  7. Continue baking for 25 minutes or until oat crumbles start to brown.
  8. Cool completely in pan then remove by lifting up on aluminum foil. Cut into bars and store in an air-tight container.
